You Don’t Need a CRM Account Setup: Have You Done it Correctly?


When you pay for any service, you want it to answer your needs and be worth the money you’re paying. When it’s a software for your company, you need to be able to adapt it the best way possible to your company’s needs.

You Don’t Need a CRM! is a SaaS tool, meaning that customers pay less for a service that is the same to thousands of other users. Nevertheless, it doesn’t mean that some things can’t be adapted to the specific needs of each company. In fact, you can choose your own colours & add your logo to the system, your own privacy settings, language and timezone. But that’s not all. If you’re looking for a system to help you manage your sales, you need a system in which you are able to replicate your sales process into. Thus, not only does You Don’t Need a CRM! enable you to create your own tags & categories, but but this lead management software also allows you to customise the default fields of your leads and most importantly, to create your own sales funnel.

To know if you have correctly set up your account, make sure you can answer YES to all the following questions.

Setting up your sales process

1/ Have you created categories & tags?

It’s very useful to set categories & tags not only to structure your leads but also to analyse your business and your market.

  • Yes. Are you sure you did it properly? Remember that categories are groups of tags. If Origin is a category, its tags should be Website, Google, Mailing, Phoning, Event, LinkedIn…

2/ Have you customised the lead’s fields?
Make sure the key information is requested every time you create a new lead in the system.

  • Yes. Don not underestimate the power of the default fields. All the information inserted there is the one that will be correctly exported whenever you need to export leads for reporting or marketing reasons.

3/ Have you set up your own pipeline?
We suggest that you don’t create too many sales steps. Above 8 it’s complicated to visualise and manage. Most importantly, do not create sales steps that reproduce the statuses.

  • Yes. Don’t forget that every sales step should define an action that you have already completed. Called, Met, Proposal sent, etc…

General account set up

1/ Have you added your company colours & logo?
Setting up your account to your company’s colours and adding your own logo will make every user feel at home. 

  • Yes.
  • No. Go to your the Admin >  User Interface to choose your own colours and upload your logo.

2/ Have you defined the privacy setting?
You can choose between two privacy modes, one where everybody sees everyone’s leads, the other where each user can only see his leads and the admins can see everything.

  • Yes. Make sure that the teams are correctly set up too if you need to have sales people divided by cities, products, etc.

3/ Have you correctly synced your account with you calendar?
Connecting your account with your calendar will enable you to have all the reminders set for a specific date & date appear automatically in the calendar you usually use.

4/ Have you chosen the correct idiom & timezone?

  • Yes.

5/ Have you and the other users added your photo?
Adding your profile picture makes it easier for the other users to find your but it’s also a lot friendlier to them, specially when if you work in different offices. 

  • Yes.
  • No. To add your photo, go to your profile settings and in “edit your profile” you can choose to add a photo.
